Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is a dental procedure that involves removing the infected or inflamed pulp (the soft tissue with nerves and blood vessels) from inside a tooth, cleaning and shaping the tooth's internal canals, and then filling and sealing them to prevent reinfection and save the tooth. It is necessary to relieve pain from deep decay, cracks, or fractures that expose the pulp, preventing the infection from spreading and potentially leading to a dental abscess. The process typically includes local anesthesia, removing the diseased tissue, cleaning the root canals, and then filling the tooth, often followed by a crown to restore its structure and function.
